WILLIAMS BAY RENOVATION

This 2,700 sq. ft. fixer upper and flip house got a full renovation top to bottom. The house was built in 1988 and needed a complete overhaul, but mostly cosmetic since the structure and layout were solid.

Over the course of six weeks we renovated the kitchen and all three bathrooms, painted every wall and ceiling, replaced the flooring throughout, replaced the interior doors, updated the lighting, modernized the stairway, refreshed the screened-in-porch, and transformed the exterior with new paint, columns, lighting, created a new walkway, and light landscaping.

Head over to the BLOG for before and afters and all the fun details.

SMALL TOWN NEW BUILD

This retired couple looking to downsize, moved from their larger country home to a more manageable new residence in town. Their wish list included more open spaces to spend time with family, modern finishes and furnishings that complement their many antiques and existing furniture, and they love blue.

The master bedroom is now on the first/ground floor along with the rest of the living space. They don’t plan on moving again, and this new home will support them in their years ahead.

DESIGNTEKT collaborated with the homeowners on recommending floor plan adjustments and storage solutions, assisting with the selection of wall coverings, window treatments, lighting, flooring, furnishings and fixtures, as well as furniture and décor placement.

FLORIDA RESIDENTIAL REFRESH

A busy mother of three young kids was looking to refresh her home. Working together remotely, we developed design concepts for her family room, dining, kids’ play area and entry. With an interest in repurposing furniture where possible and an energetic DIY spirit, we found new ways to bring life into older pieces, rearrange furniture for better flow and function, and maximize a tight budget.

Keeping with her modern farmhouse aesthetic, we enhanced her interior with an overall neutral palette bringing in blues, greens, different wood tones and terra cotta accents for warmth. New lighting, window treatments, performance fabrics, additional storage, and of course, plants, round out this joyful interior that balances function and style.

Now more than ever, our homes have a meaningful impact on our wellbeing. Creating beautiful spaces that function well and support our daily activities can help lighten the load we’re all carrying.

DESIGNTEKT COLLECTION

What started out as a personal design solution for my own home turned into something I wanted to share with others. As a result, I designed and handmade every piece in this collection of headboards and coordinating pillows using gorgeous natural fabrics and leather details.

You can find the full collection in the DESIGNTEKT SHOP. For more details on how this collection came together head to the BLOG.

TODDLER BEDROOM

A vibrant, active 4-year-old needed a bedroom to match his bright personality. This home is a rental which presented some design limitations, so we painted over the mustard yellow walls with a soft white and brought in character through handmade furnishings and décor.

DESIGNTEKT designed and made the headboard, the bench with book storage, the flag bunting, refinished the dresser and even hand-stitched the ‘LOVE’ artwork hanging on the wall. The gorgeous quilt was handmade by his Nana. The world map rug reminds the extremely social youngster that he has a whole world to explore and people to meet on every continent.

SCREENED PORCH REFRESH

The screened-in-porch walls in our fixer upper flip house were in great shape and didn’t need updating, so we swapped out the old, tattered light fixture with a new fan light and then focused on the floor. After removing the stubborn existing blue carpet, sanding down the leftover glue, and sealing the concrete with white floor and patio low sheen enamel, we got to work.

Without the budget to install tile, we went with a budget-savvy, high-impact solution and stenciled the floor. It was tedious work, and not friendly on the knees, but it transformed the outdoor space. The neutral palette lends itself to a wide range of décor options for the future homeowners.
